Tech Reporter, New Delhi: Recently, an update for the YouTube app on Android was released. Some users have reported that this update introduced several bugs, causing issues with video playback and the mini player. The update, which was rolled out on November 7, added a video playback speed control feature, but it also brought along some glitches. Let’s dive into the details of these issues.
Problems Faced by Users
According to a report by Android Police, some users are experiencing issues with the mini player due to a bug. Users claim that when they try to move the mini player to the right side of the screen, it disappears. As a result, they need to tap on the video thumbnail again to get it back.
Another bug is related to video playback in full-screen mode. When users pause a video and switch to portrait mode, the video doesn’t resume. They have to go back to full-screen mode to continue watching.
Why Are These Issues Happening?
While the exact cause of these glitches is still unclear, it seems that they are related to the recent update. If these issues are causing you trouble, you can consider installing an older version of the YouTube app to avoid them.
Problems with YouTube App and Website
Meanwhile, some users in India faced issues with the YouTube app and website. They reported that the YouTube play button was not working. However, this issue has now been resolved.
According to DownDetector, around 56% of users faced issues with video streaming, while 23% and 21% of users reported problems with server connections and the app, respectively. Fortunately, this issue didn’t affect a large number of people.
