Auto Reporter, New Delhi: KTM has introduced its flagship streetfighter, the 1390 Super Duke R EVO, marking the brand’s entry into India’s premium motorcycle segment. Priced at ₹22.96 lakh (ex-showroom), this model boasts KTM’s signature aggressive styling paired with a powerful twin-cylinder engine, a design evolution commonly seen on KTM bikes below 400cc. The 1390 Super Duke R received a global upgrade last year, enhancing its mechanics and aesthetics for a bold, refreshed look.
Engine Power of the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R
At the heart of the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R lies a 1,350cc LC8 V-twin, liquid-cooled engine that produces 188 bhp and 145 Nm of peak torque. This powertrain is mated to a 6-speed gearbox and features a slip-and-assist clutch. Additionally, KTM has integrated a “cam shift” system, which provides variable valve timing to optimize performance.
Braking and Tires on the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R
The streetfighter is equipped with Michelin Power GP tires, ensuring superior grip. The braking system includes Brembo Stylema monoblock calipers, with a 320mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear for reliable stopping power.
Suspension and Chassis Hardware
Built on a similar frame as the KTM 1290 Super Duke R, the new model features enhanced suspension with 48mm WP front forks that are fully adjustable. The rear suspension includes a monoshock with high and low-speed compression damping. The premium EVO variant of the 1390 Super Duke R is fitted with semi-active suspension, using magnetic valves for real-time adaptability and variable damping.
Five Suspension Modes in the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R
The 1390 Super Duke R offers five distinct suspension modes—Auto, Comfort, Rain, Street, and Sport. Key features include automatic preload adjustment and an anti-dive function that stiffens the front end during hard braking. Additionally, the “Factory Start” feature adjusts rear preload and ride height to enhance launch performance, ensuring an optimized riding experience.
